The Shipping Specialist is responsible for providing value to our customer by packing each client’s order to exact specification. Attention to detail and accuracy are critical in this position. The job includes but is not limited to maintaining stock records and other documents such as inventory, material control, labor, and other related supply data. Reviews and verifies quantities received against bills of lading, purchase requests and shipping documents. Unloads, unpacks, visually inspects, counts, segregates, palletizes and stores incoming supplies and equipment. Rotates stock into slots to achieve FIFO (first in, first out) as required. Reports discrepancies and obvious damages including examining materials and reporting out of date and damage.
What we need from you:
Proven history or ability to demonstrate safe and responsible behavior with a positive performance record (including attendance) experience and a minimum of a high school certificate
The promise to respectfully challenge decisions when you disagree, even when doing so is uncomfortable or exhausting. You will need to have conviction and are tenacious. You will not compromise for the sake of social cohesion.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while meeting productivity and quality expectations.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English and follow verbal instructions
Once trained, the promise that you will safely and efficiently operate hand or power trucks in performing warehousing duties
The capability of lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling parts and loads weighing 60 lbs.
with the ability to climb, crawl, stoop, bend, squat twist and reach, as required, to retrieve material from storage and bin locations
The ability to embrace the cold of a cold storage environment, when necessary.
Demonstrate dependable attendance and have the availability to work days, occasional weekend days scheduled in advance.
Start time: 6 or 7 am depending on the time of year-End time: this may be as late as 5 pm on Monday. Occasional weekend days. This is a full-time position.
