This year UPS implemented 3 increases to surcharges for: oversized pallets (with an additional shipping charge correction audit fee); ground fuel surcharges; and the large package surcharge (with an additional fee for domestic packages exceeding 70 lbs).
What do these surcharges mean?
- Over maximum or oversized pallet charges impact large items that should be in the UPS Freight or a different LTL network.
- Oil prices increased in 2017, to avoid negative impacts UPS adjusted its fuel surcharge.
- Large package fees include items that exceed 130 inches in girth, or with one side larger than 96 inches.
