This year UPS implemented 3 increases to surcharges for: oversized pallets (with an additional shipping charge correction audit fee); ground fuel surcharges; and the large package surcharge (with an additional fee for domestic packages exceeding 70 lbs).
What do these surcharges mean?
Over maximum or oversized pallet charges impact large items that should be in the UPS Freight or a different LTL network.
Oil prices increased in 2017, to avoid negative impacts UPS adjusted its fuel surcharge.
Large package fees include items that exceed 130 inches in girth, or with one side larger than 96 inches.
